When I start reflecting that Saudi Arabia is not such a bad place - have I been here too long ?
Memories of going downtown anywhere in the urban UK of an evening - gangs of feral youths, drunk an intent on mayhem ! I think I prefer Khobar !

You prefer Khobar to London? You've definitely been here too long.
What is it about Khobar that appeals to you - the potholes? the dust? the architecture? the 100% prohibition against any pleasure or joy (except for coffee and tobacco)?
When did you last go to the UK? Is it really as bad as you say? You seem to have a jaundiced view. |

Khobar is a bit too exciting for me. Sometimes I think Hafr Al Batin wouyld be better.

Well Scot... it seems to me that you are properly looking at which meets your needs better. And that would seem to be KSA. I hadn't realized that 'excitement' was part of the goal.

As opposed to gangs of feral youths in cars, bored and intent on running over anything that gets in the way of their car? |

I think I will have to start using the equivalent of a cue card for the TV audience when I post :-
"LAUGH NOW !!!!!! SCOT47 IS MAKING A REALLY STUPID JOKE!" |

No need for the cue card; your waspish wit has helped ingrain the laughter lines on my face at least.
Whatever happened to our chum Jungle Jason? Did he ever connect with the Congo? Is he dallying in Darfur, or idling in Iraq? |

That frightens me even more than Dubya's recent return to the Whitehouse.
I take back what I said about the need for a cue card. Have a look at the response to my tongue-in-cheek posting on Naturegirl's thread about her application for Romanian citizenship. |

As to the OP, it depends.
Ask yourself this, do you think Sean Connery was the best was the best Agent 552 of all time? If so, it is time to leave. |

Fleming's novels have been adapted for the big screen since you first set foot in the KSA. A milkie from Auld Reekie made his name playing Bond. |

The religious chappies here in Hejaz-Nejd do not approve of Motion Pictures. Can't say I am too enthusiastic myself. Frivolous waste of time. |

Unlike discussion boards, eh Scot?
Personally I liked ALL the 007's, but I never bothered to go to the actual movies.
