Ok so we got a job for the both of us in nagano-ken and leave in a week. As most everyone in Japan we have a holiday over Golden Week. We hope to make our way to Kyushu particaluarly to camp and hike near Aso, but are up for anything and would love some advice including the cities. Mainly how is the best and cheapest way to get to the island from Nagano (the closest city being Nagoya) and where can be best experience the hot springs and culture of Kyushu without spreading ourselves too thin as we will only have a week. . . . |

I would suggest bussing your way to Osaka and then getting a ferry from there to Kyushu. Would perhaps be the cheapest way, but even then it's not that cheap. |
