I'm thinking about buying life insurance soon. Anybody bought it here? If so, any advice? |
I have got life insurance but with an offshore company (Zurich Life in Switzerland). I dont know anything about getting insurance in Japan but you are probably best to stick with term insurance (like car insurance, you pay a premium, you dont get anything if you dont have an accident) as opposed to whole of life which has an investment component. Insurance companies IMO are not that good at investing other peoples money.
Premiums are based on age etc, the older you are the more you pay. You dont say if you have family or not, but you should consider how much your spouse will need to support a family on if you meet an early demise and she has school fees etc to think of. Perhaps consider what you would have earnt in income until retirement (works out to over a million dollars for most people over a lifetime) and work from there. |
