I do not see your point in how Greece invaded Minor Asia.
Hellinism goes way back - such a rich history . Just like there are Greek Egyptians , Greek South Africans , there were the Greeks in Minor Asia .
Part of the Animosity with the Turks has to to with the Exile and murders of say 150,000 + Greek /Pontians in the Black sea .
From what I know , they lived fine side by side for a long time untill politics got involved .
and as for Cypriot Turks - the few I have discussed the topic with preferred the way things were prior to 1974.
The way I see it , history will always exist , but true time to move on .
I think they will be talking about Cypriot solutiions and resolution for the next say 20 years ...... |

There weren't any Greeks in Ankara, which is where the Greek army was heading. While there were many Greeks on the Asia Minor coast, there weren't many in the Ankara region, and hadn't been for a very long time.
You can't rely on where people used to live hundreds/thousands of years ago to justify invasion. The Normans once conquered and lived in southern England. Does that mean that the French would be justified now to land troops and try to fight their way to London? |
