Did you slur his name from Bill Clinton into Billinton or was that the cat's pronunciation? |

I think it is a matter of attitude. If you are a negative person, you are unlikely to enjoy living anywhere. And if you don't like Turkey, leave it and go moan about somewhere else. I am very glad that fate brought me here and I expect to stay. |
It of course suits ET to have people keep quiet about its illegal, unprofessional and unethical practices. Of course they don`t want people to talk about it and warn other fresh meat form coming. A few foreigners are scraping a living by going along with the scam but how can they live with themselves. If you don`t like it leave. Haven`t you just turned Turk. Ya sev ya terket. |

I would rather read about the cats ( have to say that I'm a dog man myself) then some thirdperson deep thoughts. Although from what I know of cats they have one thing in common the royal one. They both love themselves above all others. |

Baba Alex thinks that the thread should be kept solely for the purposes of personal ego boosting.
Baba Alex spent some time in (insert place name), and found that (insert opinion), many of the locals complimented Baba Alex on his (insert whatever). Baba Alex also (more mindless self promoting dribble)
Bearing this in mind Baba Alex can only conclude that all cats are Satan, and despite having lived in this country for (insert card, wait for the beep, then type PIN code), everything's completey rubbish. |

Baba Alex feels that (blah blah blah), and that Faustino has totaly (damage limitation).
Baba Alex also feels, without any real evidence, that all TEFL teachers in Turkey are running away from problems at home, except for Baba Alex, (and DMB)...........or something |

Learning how to use the quote function, so bear with me...
Let me say again, 31 does not work for ET and I doubt he lives in Galata. If 31 really worked for ET, my question would be why, since he disprespects it so much.
ET does not have illegal, unprofessional, or unethical practices, at least not any more than any other company in Turkey. ET also does not control what people say about it (though you know I jump in and try to correct things I disagree with here). I stand by the defense of our school, as I think it is one of the best language schools in Istanbul. We are always working to make it better and I think we are slowly being successful in that.
If I have turned Turk, sana ne? 31 seems to dislike it here, seems to dislike everyone, probably including himself. I like it here, and it is my prerogative to say it. |

I work for ET but you are right I don`t live in Galata. I could hardly afford to live in Galata when ET don`t pay an accomodation allowance. How would I pay the rent during the summer and during months when there are a lot of holidays?
If 31 really worked for ET, my question would be why, since he disprespects-ET is a standing joke on this board, in the staffrooms and in the classrooms. ET will never get any respect unless it changes.
Let me give a few reasons why someone would want to work for ET:
The job is easy. You can make a grand a month if you do a lot of hours and there are no holidays. You don`t need a degree or Celta to get the job. You can walk straight in and start work straightaway. Most of the students are nice and because there mostly elementary it is easy again. Enough?
ET does not have
Let me give 1 example of each of these practices:
illegal:
Almost all teachers work illegally without social security.
unprofessional:
Employing ''teachers'' without degrees.
unethical practices:
ET won`t employ black/asian/Turkish teachers even when they have the correct qualifications.
at least not any more than any other company in Turkey.
What a terrible phrase. Another similar phrase:
''I was just following orders.''
ET also does not control what people say about it
It can`t.
(though you know I jump in and try to correct things I disagree with here). I stand by the defense of our school, as I think it is one of the best language schools
Why?
in Istanbul. We are always working to make it better and I think we are slowly being successful in that.

There is no need to resort to personal attacks. By doing so you are likely to risk being reported to the moderator and this brings problems for all of us on the board.
. I like it here, and it is my prerogative
Have you been listening to Britney Spears again?
to say it. |
