There are American Schools all around Latin America, Here in Mexico they are loosely integrated in the AMerican School Foundation. They all have different governing boards and directors. I worked for one of them for a year in northern Mexico. The kids were great, the parents were great, the other teachers were okay, the salary was fine--and the general director of the school was a ballbusting b*tch.
I have friends who have taught at other American Schools--especially in Ecuador. Their experiences were mixed. |

You probably never 'here' much because firstly...you don't know how to spell!! Oh well, you'd probably be a great teacher because...it appears few who write in these columns know how to spell...and they all 'say' that they are 'teachers'
The American School in San is much like any other...lots of spoiled kids needing to be noticed (sort of like Tim and Yug)...you can make some money and then run away like most do...
There are other private schools and you might like the change of pace at those...
The greatest question to ask yerself is: What the heck do I want to go to Latin America for????? |

Not only are there spelling-challenged contributors to this forum, but there are also folks who write "firstly", instead of "first"--and try to convince us that they are English teachers. |

Firstly, Are you Chinese by any chance? My little Chinese friend, Cindy writes just like you...
Actually, Latin Amer. is a rather interesting and congenial place to be...at times... |

I have an acquaintance who taught at the American School in San Salvador a long time ago. She was hired from El Salvador, not from the U. S., and she says that drastically reduced her salary and benefits package. I think she liked teaching there, though. I'm sorry I don't have any more information to offer, and, admittedly, what information I have is very little.
Did you get the job? |

What level will you be teaching?...if its anywhere around middle school...may God bless you with patience and understanding ( and possibly a little dose of 'not really here'...) |

If you were teaching middle school, Paulie, it would probably be more appropriate to wish that same blessing on your students regarding their teacher. |

How disheartening that someone like Paulie2003 is "teaching" anyone at any level.
All I have read in his for too many posts(usually irrelevant to the topic being discussed) is offensive, obnoxious, personal insults and name calling, endless Christian ranting.....
now I'll tell you how I eally feel
to all of the other posters thanks for taking part in an informative site |

Your MIND is like a parachute...constantly airy and drifting in the wind...if you don't like my insenitivities...then you'll have to avoid reading my posts...
Actually, I am thinking of going back through and deleting all posts that are degrading, irrelevant or just plain boring...but then there'd be NONE AT ALL |

Hmmm....
"insenitivities"
that's the kind of thing that someone like you would be critical of, sort of like "here" rather than "hear". Reaallly important stuff |
