Here's a not very politically correct ad headline I found today. I think the correct term is Downs Syndrome:
"Help needed to locate a Student Recruitment Agent for Mongol" |

| United English, why in the world would someone with a CELTA qualification work for you when they can make real money in Japan or the Middle East? |
The reason that people would choose the lower pay in Mexico than working in Japan is because the people in Mexico have more spirit for life. Latin America is about the people and not the money. |

Before you apply the teaching position with your complete documents, I would like to kindly ask you to consider the following questions first before you take any further step. Your self-evaluation would be one of the best ways to eliminate possible difficulties that you may face after your arrival in Korea or at our schools.
1. Are you a patient, flexible and open-minded person?
2. Are you seeking a teaching and cultural experiences in Korea or is your main goal to earn a large amount of money and travel all over the country?
3. Do you believe that anyone can teach English because he/she is a native English speaker?
4. Do you have the basic ideas or skills how to teach English conversation?
5. Do you really concern for your students and your organizational goals?
6. Did you know that teaching English in Korea might be very difficult, boring and stressful task?
7. Are you looking for a reputable and reliable foreign language school?
8. Do you know how to select a safe and reputable school? What are your school selection criteria?
I hope your answer would be all yes. I would be appreciated to get your reply on question number 8 in your next reply.

For the lazy teacher only. Why would they try to recruit losers? |

I saw that ad, too. Except for the parts about being an edutainer and about creative and interesting CVs, it doesn't look too bad. I think the pay for teaching 25 hours per week would be considered pretty decent for many parts of Mexico -- darned good for the city I'm in -- and the requirements don't seem out of line for TEFL jobs in this country.
I'm still wondering about that edutainer part though. |

It is good money, and interestingly, 'edutainment' is in my dictionary:
edutainment noun
products such as books, television programmes and especially computer software that both educate and entertain
How long before edutainer slips in there too and it becomes an actual job? This ad could be ground-breaking... |

The boogie woogie boy obviously has lots of incorrect notions about living, working and teaching in certain parts of the world.
Perhaps he has watched too much Fox TV News and listened to too much AM talk radio?
I'm sure he'd be the first to jump on somebody who said comparably foolish things about China and living in China. |

All these people shouting that they dont care about money makes me think they are printing it in their living room or something. I wish I could say I dont care about money, perhapes that will happen when I'm debt free.
People saying there there for other reasons brings me back to the topic that the EFL industry is full of guys chasing exotic women. |
