Anyone care to post their pictures of Mexico? I plan on putting up some Semana Santa pictures. What about you?

That ain't me. That's an English teacher enjoying a poolside bar in Acapulco. I spent a lot of time in the pool. Even taught a few classes right there at the bar.

A combination bar/school! What a cool idea! Laughing Not only is it well-known that people tend to speak a second language better when slightly-inebriated, I but ALL my students would attend regularly if they could have a brew along with that grammar lesson Laughing

Id post a pic but I got to put one up on line. Will do that later.[/img]

Well, I'm going to continue this bandwidth-consuming showcase of Mexico since the tourism secretariat pays me 42 centavos for every tourist I pull in.

THIS is the biggest and most intricate cathedral front I've ever seen. Zacatecas. I found only one language school there and it looked like it was falling off its moorings.

What, nobody takes pictures?

The Mexican navy was kind enough to let me on board their training three-master called the Cuauhtemoc. Same name as the colonia that I live in. I just HAD to do the Titanic thing.

Actually, it was a Sunday morning and I was hungover. At best, I would have had a thumpin going on.

I've got at least 500 other pics of Mexico over 4 years, so someone else help me out here.

I've got some pics, but they're nowhere near as interesting as yours, just quirky things I scanned. The rest are at home in Oz.

Well, then if you all don't mind, I'm going to turn this thread into Guy's photo album. Looking through, I just realized that most of the pictures I have are of my dogs...see what happens when you don't have kids? Take pictures of your dogs. Celebrate the dog's birthday. Pretty soon I'm probably going to be dressing them up in little sweaters.

Ah Mexico. Just when you thought it was fine enough, they go and make it better. Here is my investigative report on the beers of this fine land.

First, you have the Coronita, a tiny 200 ml baby of a beer. It's just enough to take the thirst away while carrying home the larger bottles.

Then you have a regular ole Corona, pictured below. At 60 US cents, this is your standby...your go-to beer. Lemon needed for greater effect.

As you Springbreakers know, there is also the 1 litre monster, called a Cahuama, or Ballena in some parts. After finding this bottle at $1.20 each, I knew there was no going back to Canada.

But then...THEN, they come out with this. LA BRAVA, roughly translated to mean The Wild One. 1.180 L of brew at $1.32 us. One dollar and 32 cents. It is pictured next to a measely 355 ml Corona below.

In the Zocalo, which is the main plaza for the country in Mexico City, there are constant protests...some big, one day affairs, others more of a long term sit-in. Here's one campaign against the PRI for election irregularities in the southern state of Oaxaca.

As you can tell, I'm bored today so like any boring uncle, I force you to sift through the family album with me.

Acapulco Ingles Individual May 2004 graduating class. Ingles Individual in Acapulco always puts on a great affair on the beach and nicely catered.

Love the look of the girl in the middle. Rising flood waters? Can't believe she graduated?

What kind of alcohol percentages are we talking here? And do these beers actually taste of anything? And while we're on the subject how easy is it to get hold of gin and tonic?

I will be relocating to Mexico for a year so these are important considerations.
