I have a meeting in Kadikoy at 7.30 tomorrow morning. Does anyone know what time the ferries start?

You should be alright. If you're worried, get a dolmus from Taksim.

There's one from Kadikoy to Beşitaş at 7.00 so there should be one going the other way at 6.30 or 6.45.
Also think about trying the privet boats out at B/taş they may start sooner.

While dmb is on the timetable enquiries topic, I thought I would throw in my topic du jour: my friend is flying in from France in a few weeks on a Sunday night at around 9:30 or 10 pm. I work very early monday morning. How can I pick him up and bring him back safely to my home in the Kadiky area without killing myself in class the next day from exhaustion?

Options I have pondered: Havaş to Taksim then direct dolmuş home; metro and tram to Eminnu/Karaky then hopefully get the last ferry back; or get a havaş to Bakırky if the sea buses are still running to Bostanci (I think they stop earlier though).

Ideas?

If your friend is coming for a holiday. Splash out and take a taxi. Does your DOS read this forum? Ask nicely and reschedule the class.

Yaramaz, why not Havas to Kozyatagi then a taxi home (whereever that is it should only be around 6YTL on this side)? I always do it that way!

I agree with 31's short but sweet post. That was one of the great shows of the 70s and 80s. Andy Kaufman's finest half hour(s).

Unfortunatly we never got that programme in the UK. During the 70s and into the 80s we weren`t completely dominated by America.

It was on BBC2 at 7:30/8:00ish in the early 80s. It's a shame you didn't get to see it, 31. The American programs broadcast in those days were generally only the better ones, as the Beeb had to justify spending its budget on foreign shows, especially as people had a much narrower choice of alternatives. This was all we got to see of Andy Kaufman though, his unisex wrestling matches never making it across the Atlantic.

I missed it as I wasn`t in the UK during the late 70s-early eighties and have never heard of Kaufman. You are right about the programmes plus TV has been dumbed down on both sides of the Atlantic.

What was the subject of this thread again?

Me? Off topic? Nah- I was merely swerving the topic from ferry timetables to Kadikoy to ferry or seabus times to Bostanci. Not my fault it all moved over to Taxi and Andy Kaufman. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I quite liked him.
