| I'm looking to read some books before I move to Japan to teach. Any suggestion on books about Japan? Not tour books like Lonely Planet but ones about the culture, or about life in Japan and what to expect with the transition? Thanks. |

| Another very good one I've just discovered is Living Abroad in Japan by Ruthy Kanagy. It was published in October 2004, so it's quite recent and has a good deal of useful information - particularly handy are the sidebars with common signs you'll see. |
