If I were a dog, I'd wanna look like that.

Too bad it's not even mine. Too itinerant for hairy beasts.

All the native speakers here, (all 8 of us across several locations), are English or Irish. That said, I don't think nationality is really an issue as they are more interested in experience and evidence of hardiness etc. It's difficult to find people who are prepared to live in shipping containers or shared prefab housing in the middle of, or on the edge of the Sahara Desert. No shops,no comms little in the way of a social life,no working recreational facs,no transport, canteen food,no women,no booze,(ahem) and general hardship....all for money.Of course, the reverse side of the coin is that you get 3-4 months paid holiday a year,Libya is safe and sunny and you save money,(only to blow it on ridiculously extravagant hols). In fact, the money is low when compared to the Gulf and other oil companies in Libya but by normal efl standards it's ok/good.Unlike in the Gulf the students here are generally disciplined, friendly and hardworking. The question you really have to ask yourself is this-Can I spend 65 days in a portacabin by myself in the middle of the desert, if that's where they send me?

Libya;better students,a lot more leave, lower money than qp direct hire but about the same as qac when the riyal was ok,nicer weather.
Qatar;better standard of living,more to do,social life.
Similarities;bosses with pre-intermediate English telling you what to do and checking your work, mindless office hours, the locals always drawing 'the long straw', a high proportion of weird ex-pats and people who count how many teabags are in the box and ration themselves to 3 sheets of bogroll a day.
Where would I rather be?It's like asking if you'd like to be drowned or burnt to death? Most people say,'a whorehouse in the land of frowns.'(Poland).
