I have a friend who wants to travel the world and teach italian, but not in italy! All the websites we can find are for positions teaching English. Does anyone know of any websites or any ways that someone can go searching for jobs as a teacher of a different language abroad?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Simply type the following phrases at www.google.com (or other Web-search site):

Italian teacher wanted
Italian language teacher wanted
Italian teaching job
Italian teachers job
language teaching Italian

You can probably think of many other combinations. The results will at least get you started.

You could try London's vast array of cowboy/not-so-cowboy language schools, and also the Further and Higher Education Colleges.

The amount of times I've heard, 'Oooh teacher I want learn Italian next, is so beautiful language'.

Don't most universities offer Italian as an undergrad course? Choose a city and research the universities in that city.

Yeah, and you reply, "When you master both languages call me and we'll celebrate your 5000th birthday."

In Canada it is possible to teach foreign languages such as Italian, Portuguese and Spanish at some local YMCAs, but never at full time bases. It may also be possible to teach at some public schools. The only problem I see is that none of these organizations will ever sponsor anyone from abroad. So there's your dilemma.

How about with Berlitz? I knew someone who taught Spanish classes for them in Vancouver...
