I plan to take my CELTA at the IH in Barcelona in June. I've got some personal commitments in July. I'd like to work and get some experience in August/early Sept before trying to pick up something full time in late Sept/October.
Do these late summer types of opportunities exists?

For us to be of help you have to narrow down where you want to go. A sort list of countries or at least a continet. |

The general answer is that August work is rare all over Europe. It's holiday time, and that's taken seriously.
You might find a summer camp school for kids somewhere, though. |

Honestly, Western Europe is my goal for Sept/Oct, but for the August time frame I would go anywhere. I would just like to get a little bit of experience before looking for fulltime jobs in the Sept/Oct.
Thanks |

It's easiest to start looking where you are! So when you're in Barcelona, have a look around. There are A LOT of language schools there, and many, though by no means all, offer summer intensives. (Usually this means kids, although sometimes business types.)
August is traditionally vacation in Spain, but this seems to be changing, as more and more businesses get caught up in international markets that won't tolerate a whole month of time off.
Good Luck,
Justin |
