good afternoon. considering what sounds like an interesting opportunity. but except for what is in Lonely Planet, only 14 pages, Nanchang could be a "hidden jewel" or a "rough gem."
if any of you are or have worked there and/or lived there for 6 months or more I would really be interested in your views.
yes, I am following my own advice and taking a trip there for a few days to meet people and walk around, so to speak. over by plane and back by train. not that I do not really like Shanghai but its not the ONLY place in China. or is it? and that is what I will miss? maybe?
your views most welcome.
the good, the bad and the ma ma hu hu.
thanks.

Sorry Lady, I dont have any information on this. Actually I've been watching your message because I have been offered a job (not formally yet) at Jianxi Univ of Finance and Econ. I was hoping someone would provide details about Nanchang. This will be my first stop in China, Asia for that matter. So I know squat. However, from the glossy brochure, it looks great! Can't wait to try the pool!

This post will bring the question back to the top, and hopefully start a groundswell. How `bout it? Any Nanchang advice?

Hi!
I have only been living in Nanchang for just over a month. I live outside the city in a very poor place. The centre of Nanchang is lovely though. Bustling and lively. It just depends on where you are. According to my Chinese friends Jiangxi Normal University is in a very nice area in the east of the city.
Sorry I can't be of more help. I haven't been here very long.
Good luck.
