So yesterday I had an intense interview for a temp position at the Consulate Geneal of Japan in Denver, but that's not what this post is about...

As many of you know this is the same office that handles the local JET Participants. When I was there, I was told that they -just- received the results from Tokyo of who has been accepted.

The results will be mailed out to everyone over the next few days so we should start seeing them Monday!!! Very Happy

Ah, my favorite time of year. We'll soon see questions like these flooding the forum.

1. Does anyone know anything about (name of tiny town)?

2. I'm on the alternate list. When can I expect to hear about my status being upgraded?

3. Has anyone from the (pick a foreign city) area heard from JET yet?

4. What does everyone recommend packing?

Glenski, don't forget...

5. Can I bring ________ medicine into Japan?

6. How much toothpaste/deodorant/anything should I bring?

7. What gifts should I bring with me?

8. How much luggage does XYZ airline allow me to take on the airline? (instead of asking the airline themselves)

I know we shouldn't make fun of this because we all wanted to know this at one time, but there is a search function on Dave's for a reason.

[edit] Gordon! what are you doing, beating my post and screwing with my numbers here Wink (5 -> 9)

9. I am going to X city. Who else is there? Let's exchange info.

Course, this one is slightly more relevant, imo (-might- not be searchable) Wink

I hope to be asking that question soon... but then again, even if I find out next week if I am accepted it'll still be another month until I know where.

When I was being interviewed for the unrelated position at the Consulate, and they mentioned this, they must have seen the glimmer in my eyes. For the next statement was, "And no, we can't tell you now. You have to wait like everyone else." Razz

Which, is fine of course. Been waiting so long already anyway.
