One of my faves is Torun in North West Poland, just below Gdansk.IH,JDJ and a few other chains are there. It's an old walled city...very nice and pretty small really. |

Hello:
Well, I never considered Torun a small town (250,000 people). That said, it is one of the best as it sits on the Vistula River. It was the home of Mikolai Kopernick (famous astronomer) and the town even has a statue of him.
As far as small towns go, I was in the Northwest for 2 years in Czaplinek (pop 7000) so it was sort of hickish to say the least. Walcz and Sczeczinik in the area were both nice towns with lakes and big enough but small enough if you know what I mean (15000-20000 people).
I would advise staying out of the industrial heartland of Poland in the SW with Krakow the only redeeming thing in the area (a major city though).
I found Olsztyn in the north to be a great place (can either be a small city or big town depending on ones point of view) and Przemysl in the SE to be the same. Both are charminng. Gorzow Wielepolski in the west not far from Poznan is also a nice small town as is Barlinek (this one is a little hickish as well).
I have never been to Suwalki in the NE but have heard contradictory things so that is not a safe bet (not that small either). Kolobrzeg on the Baltic coast near Germany is a great place but touristy in the summer and not all that small (did hear it has more brothels per capita than any other place in Poland though )
All depends on what you want but I would say stick to a town with more than 15000 people. Otherwise, it is just too small.
Good Luck,
Dave |

Tarnobrzeg or Stalowa Wola. Both are nice places. |

Rzeszow is nice. It isn't as small as some of the places you mentioned but it feels smaller than it is and the people are very curious about foreigners.
There are a few schools there so you shouldn't have any problems finding work. |

Chelm,
Has a really good beer...almost like an English ale. I am not a drinker but I spent a memorable afternoon in the square.
End of discussion. |

No, it's not IH. Will mull over the contract I've seen & the info from one of the teachers there that I've received, if I'm still undecided or thinking about saying yes, I might get back on here with the schools name for more info. |
