Are there any people who use this message board living/working there right now?

Yes. I have been living here for about 10 months now.

And who would be interested in being a contact for me when I arrive?

Sure, e-mail me.

What might expect from the Japanese community in Fukuoka being a "woman of colour".

Fukuoka is fairly international, and there are many different ethnicities represented here. One of my closest friends here is a British woman of Jamaican descent, and from what she has told me, she really hasn't had any problems here.

I'm actually a tall woman of colour (5'10")

Your height will probably cause some comments. People tell me I'm tall, and I'm only 5'4". ( Sad Bring plenty of pantyhose and shoes- you won't find them to fit you here. )
