I'm looking for a place to go jogging in Osaka. I realize that green space isn't that common here but if anyone could recommend a park that's decent for running I'd really appreciate it. Also, I'd like to know if there are any races in the area (fun runs, nothing too serious). Any info about the running community (if it exists!) would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Not too many green places- the only places I know of are Osaka-jo koen, where the castle is, Nagai-koen and someone mentioned the Osaka Banpaku park in Ryokuchi which has a lot of green.
Hash House Harriers in Kobe are serious drinkers with a running problem. Contact details are in the Kansai Time Out. |

Osaka Castle park is one of the best places to jog in Osaka. My Japanese friend does it all the time. |

If you are nearby, Nagai Koen and Oizumi Ryoukuchi Koen are both nice for jogging, Oizumi is greener. Where do you actually live? There are some other good places depending on your location. |

Where in Osaka are you? There are rivers everywhere with paved areas to run. I live by the Yodogawa river and run there in the mornings (if I wake up in time). There are a bunch of oji-sans and house wives walking their dogs during the day and I enjoy it. I've seen other river areas while taking the trains that look quite nice as well. |

Thanks for all the advice. I actually live in Tezukayama, which is on the Nakai Koya Line. I'm fairly close to Nagai park so I will check it out. PaulH, thanks for the info about the Hash House Harriers. |
