I was offered a job in Reynosa, but ended up passing it along to a friend of mine. I visit her every few months. It's a rough place to live. She gets paid very well, but has nothing to do except go to McAllen. |

Hi Olivia - can I ask why you passed the opportunity?
would your friend be able to contact me? I'm looking at a possible trip there (opportunity?) and would like to talk to someone there!

And if you've never been to McAllen, it isn't exactly a hotbed of excitement. |

I worked/lived in Saltillo for a year, and I can tell you that all those border towns--on both sides of the border--are high crime, drug mafia-controlled hell holes. The ones on the US side are essentially shopping malls where the folks who live in Nuevo Len, Tamaulipas and Coahuila go to buy clothes and stuff more cheaply than on the Mexican side of the border. You might want to check around on Proceso's website for some information about Tamaulipas....It'll open your eyes. |
