Come work at English Time. Lets go through their ad:

English Time Location Istanbul, Turkey
Deadline --Of course there is no deadline, they have installed the turnstiles and will always be short of teachers.

Experience 1 year-Is that all?
Positions 10 Wow, 10 jobs going in April
Details
We are seeking dynamic native-English speaking

Why the hyphen?

They go on to contradict themselves later when they say natives preferred.
teachers for our growing school

Don`t they mean growing chain of schools?
in Istanbul, Queen of Cities

Where does the phrase ''queen of cities'' come from? I have only ever heard it in an ET ad. Fair enough Thailand, land of smiles but queen?

. We teach adults in our 6-level integrated skills program. Our system is set, with curriculum, pacing schedule, books, and tests all ready to go.

Just teach and go.

Qualifications
Our teachers must have a university degree

A lie. We all know that that is not true and Molly has admitted it herself. TEFL cert-same. One of the ET DOSes doesn`t even have a degree.

and a TEFL certificate. We prefer native English speaking

So you do accept non natives.
teachers who are serious about the profession.

Done 6 months in Thailand, six months in China....
We reply only to those whoe send CVs of interest to us

How grand.

Compensation
We offer a competitive hourly salary

That dreaded word-hourly
, a monthly rent allowance, and an end of contract bonus and travel. Full time employment is at least 25 hours in class per week.

What does that mean? Are you guaranteed 25 hours a week? Or what?

I'm wondering who your intended audience is, 31. Those of us who have been in the profession/business for a while will know exactly what to expect when we see such an advertisment. Conversely, can those new to this gig expect anything better than what is being offered?

Yeah, those who have been in the game a while know all the scams and know the state of EFL in Ist. Newbies don`t and need protection form the cowboys. Read some of the posts about ET in the job info journal and you will see how some newbies to Ist/EFl lost a lot because they didn`t know how tough it is to work for an hourly wage in a country where there are so many holidays etc.

So, what are you trying to achieve? For whose benefit are you making these points?

I was having a laugh at ET`s expense but if some newbie reads it and realises what he/she is getting into the great.

You knew by the topic heading and the poster what the post would be like so why read it?

I have done no damage to ET. ET are doing well and expanding. The realtively few people who read this are teachers and have no power to damage ET. If I was telling the students what was going on maybe that might do a miniscule amount of damage to ET.

all your threads are about ET

Not true. Many of my posts have been about books, private unis, the good old days, Eastenders etc.

and i dont think you will change your style....

No
i am sure you are not working for ET but for someone else...

What`s your point?

If you don`t want to read about ET then don`t.

any newbie or oldie who reads these negative posts will take them for what they are-- raging at the machine. I stand by the ad and I don't think it is midleading at all. As for the queen of cities, I have heard istanbul called that and I happen to love the city, so I can express that if I d'd well want to. I know a lot of people who have come here and love it. I know a lot of people who have come to ET and are still here. So newbies and oldies can take that for what it's worth. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen and quit your b..in'

Unlocked, but only as long as it stays on topic and free of personal attacks and petty bickering.
