One of my last destinations in Asia, I'd like to know if there are any travellers, teachers or even store clerks that are people of colour in Ulaan Bataar or any parts thereof?

Have U seen any people?

I'll try keep it to the round cheeked wives and daughters Wink

ps- If you are equating black with felonies, then you've shown yourself as an idiot. Rolling Eyes

A good question.

It's a small town and most people have seldom seen a person of any color. They point and stare, but nothing offensive. The Mongolians are a fairly good people, unlike the chinese, who seem to think they are the only people on the planet.

I stay with the foreigners (Canadian, French, English) who share the same cultural background. They make easy friends and we are always in the clubs and cafes, sharing stories of travel.

I was in Inner Mongolia (Chinese owned) and it was the same....good people all around.

ps- Mongolia is very inexpensive as well.

Riding horses and eating mutton.

If U like beaches and city life, don't go.

If U like animals, beef and grasslands (and the outdoors)....Mongolia is the right spot.

Think of Mongolia as a big, exotic camping trip with horses, camels and lotsa sheep.

Easy there! I wasn't equating anyone with anything. I was merely making a little joke relating to the fact that you would be easily recognizable if you are in fact the only black guy there. Nothing more needs to be read into it. If you've got a chip on your shoulder, not my problem. I'll let it go at this being the case of a forum not being able to trully relate how someone says something because I am hoping that is what happened. Rolling Eyes

I've been travelling for about 5 months now, and I am pretty tired and need to go home and rest.

I might do some more travelling next year or so. Russia will have to wait a while, but thanks for the support.

Where are U now?

Sain Banuu.

I was in Ulaan Bataar for a few days, then took the train to Darhan. So I did't see any African people. Lots of chinese and some koreans and japanese. A few western foreigners looking for the tomb of Chingis Khan....like myself.

Is there a community of black or indian people here? I'm interested.
