Thanks everybody. I'll pass all this on to her. She does want to go abroad, she's just nervous for whatever reason. Zaneth, let me know what the rector says. Fortunately for my imagination, I don't know my cousin well enough to know if she's going to ask you to do anything bad to her....you amuse me immensely.

I sent that link on to my cousin and she's ecstatic because I guess a friend of hers lives in that area and will be going home for the summer. I have sent her about 1000 links so I'm glad something seems to be working for her finally! Thanks a lot.

Haven't been able to find the rector. Spoke to the secretary about basic costs of inviting someone and whether the university has any spare rooms for the summer. She was less than ecstatic about the possibility of extra work, running around doing paperwork. And she said we don't have any spare rooms for the summer. Still need to talk to the rector.

I haven't done this so I can't recommend it but I did consider it and had email contact with two teachers who'd been back there several times. If your friend is nervous about travelling abroad, an organised scheme like this might suit her.
