I recently landed a very good new job at a nat plus school but in the course of jobhunting it struck me just how many decent jobs there are around right now since so many newbies have become paranoid about tsunamis, volcanoes and half-baked US travel warnings.

Sumatra has been worst affected by this paranoia and I know of a gem of a new school in Pekanbaru (miles from any seismic activity) - American owned and managed - that just can't entice quality recruits right now, despite better terms and conditions than any of the big franchises. I hear that even TBI are stuggling to staff their new Medan operation as well.

This is good news for job hunters because - with a bit of shopping around - there are plenty of good opportunities and no need for anyone with qualifications to put up with crappy conditions.

Hmmm. I wonder if that's the job I saw advertised today, where the school insists on a four year degree? No mention what the degree must be in, so I suppose maths or engineering or similar would be fine
