There's an ad up on Dave's for this school and I've never heard of them. Anyone know anything about them? Not looking for a job, I'm just curious...

They are one of the 'McDonalds' franchise groups around the world.
I don't know anyone who has worked for them in Turkey but I know a couple of people who have worked for them in other countries. I think they are one of those groups of schools that have their own methodology of teaching.

I was referring to schools that have their own books because it is the only way to teach and you will only ever learn English if you do it their way. And of course you will learn English in half the time at a quarter of the price.

A Berlitz kind of thing then. All the English and half the carbs.

I'm taking their placement test now. Last time I took a school like this one's placement test, they put me in high intermediate... Guess my grammar's just not all it could be.

Inlingua split off from Berlitz about 30 yrs ago. They have a very similar system, is my understanding. The ownership of the franchise here has just gone through some changes, so I am not sure what it means for the school. There is a branch in Acibadem and one in Taksim.

If the management of Inlingua is the same as Berlitz then teachers should run for their lives

I don't think the management is the same and I know the owners aren't. I don't like the materials much, as they are too prescriptive and don't leave room for the teachable moments.

Please, please PM me and tell me what you said. I promise not to repeat it on this board and will be in your debt. BTW I thought the origin of the term mullahed (sp?) was from the word mullah as in Mullah Omar.
