Men overstate how many they have slept with eh? (actually, thats a good point)
Next youll say that women understate how many they have slept with...
I, of course, have "done the deed" only once with only one guy ... as I have only one child

That one child's gonna make it REALLY difficult to convince the next guy that you're "still a virgin," though. |

Just tell him it was an immaculate conception. |

Golly, I always wanted my own bridge. How much is it? (I am from Iowa, after all.) |

How about one of The Bridges of Madison County? It worked for Robert Waller. (I'm also from Iowa, by the way.) |

Argentinian girls are fit... I did well over there
it has gotta be said... there is a big shopping centre
near calle florida in the middle of BA, there is this
waiteress who was GORGEOUS (and I don't use the word lightly)
who kept eyeing me up and I swear when I go back in August thats
the first place I'm paying a visit... I was with a girl at the time
so I couldn't but this time no chica...
There was this interesting article about this girl in Lima
who wanted to sell her Virginity to pay for her mums medical
bills... things haven't changed there since my mums days in
the 1960s

Carlos,
If the girl was that beautiful, she is probably taken by now. Tough luck man, but I'll bet you missed your chance.
And on the off chance she is still there, I am going there first thing when I get there at the end of MAY. Hahahaha...you lose. |

Galerias Pacifico on Florida esquina Av Cordoba if you want to check out the lady, Snielz (at least i assume she was there as it's the only shopping centre on Florida). You should go there anyway, an amazing building with incredible frescos on the ceiling of the ground floor and also the Borges Centre upstairs which has some really good exhibitions and shows art-house films.
plus, a good place to people watch and practice your filthy piropos... |

So, Weona, do you like piropos?? Is there a definite difference in the types of piropos (say in the one's that are innocent and complimentary vs. the ones that are lewd) or do you consider them all derogatory (or complitmentary)? |

lol matt. that may be, but i bet that you piropeando one of the argentinas in spanish would make her day...
snielz - i know you didn't ask me, but here are my two cents (at least they're on topic). YES there is a difference b/t the lewd and the complimentary. although for the most part, they don't seem very complimentary since it doesn't change much whether you're walking out of the gym in sweats or all dressed up and going to a club.
i guess part of the difference has to do with the guy giving the piropo and the circumstances. but that's me... talking to my argentine amigas (and i think matt mentioned this before) it's just expected. and they enjoy complaining about it when it happens (complimentary or lewd - they're treated the same) |

I wouldn't necessarily say I like piropos but I'm not as bothered by them as the average person it seems. Like Amy mentioned, it really depends what is being said and who it's coming from. If a sweaty construction worker pops his head out of a sewage drain and asks me to walk closer to him so he can look up my skirt (happened before)... that's just lewd. If guys my age or a little bit older say things like "you're beautiful" when passing on the street then I can find that kind of thing complementary. The whistles, kissey noises, and "mmm" sounds are more annoying and obnoxious than derogatory. Also, I find that the younger the guy is, the less it bothers me.
What bugs me the most is when I will pass a couple on the street with their kid(s) and I'll still get that "look" from the man. Sometimes they'll even make that noise where it sounds like they're blowing in or sucking on a straw (trying not to let their wives hear/catch them) and then sometimes it's just the eyes at work. I just find that really sad. |
