Hello everyone,

I am a teacher in Portugal and since I see so many people would like to have some information on getting a job here, thought it'd be useful to post this link:

Hope this will be helpful. If you have more questions, I'd be happy to answer.

All the best,
Edda Smile

Hi Edda

I'm an experienced TEFLer volunteering in China at the moment. I'm thinking of applying for a job in Lisbon, for cambridge telemac. Have you heard of this company and school? I can't find any salary information - in your experience will I earn enough to live on? I've heard lisbon is quite expensive..

Cheers !

Hey Marv,

I have never heard of that school. I've heard Cambridge School, but Cambridge telemac, no...

Lisbon is not very expensive to live on. Depending on the experience and qualifications, the salaries for a full-time position range between 700-1000 Euros. Just to give you an idea, hiring a room-not the whole apartment- costs around 170-250 Euro. Your salary would be enough to live on, but don't expect to save any money.

Please also note that if you are not an EU citizen, it'll be almost impossible to obtain a work permit.

All the best,
Edda Smile
