Hi there,

Although I have read across the boards that online courses are not recommended, partly due to lack of practise, I wonder if anyone has experience with http://www.teflonline.net/

They offer an online course together with a one or 2 week practice. This is organised by tefl international which seems to be a good and recommended organisation.

Although I would love to do the full 4 week courses of Tefl International, I am not able to because of the care for my 3 year old son.

Where I live currently (Singapore) there do not seem to be a lot of opportunities to get the Tefl certificate.

If anyone can give me any feedback on teflonline.net or give me any other receommendations as to how else I can get my tefl certifcation I would much appreciate it.

(As I will move to Shanghai next year I plan to teach english there. I feel that certification is very important as I'm not a native speaker.)

If it has teaching practice, thats the most important bit. As long as you are observed by a trainer for at least 6 hours of practice, I mean. You may still have problems if you say you have an online certificate, but as long as you point out that there is observed teaching practice, you should be fine with that...
