i too am also curious as well ( nobody can make a better mistake than this)

i think people on the forum shoul be given degrees of value ...
for example dmb: gold member, imanH: silver member, entrailicus:bronze member, molly:copper member, whynotme: tin member, ghost: titanium member ( couldnt find a much more valuabler one) (another mistake Cool )

Fear not, for I was equally slighted. Admittedly, I havent been very vocal lately but I didn't realise I was so unknown and or unpopular.

Sigh! Confused

Then a palladium(Pa?) member you are.
To sort of go back to the op why are fee paying schools in the UK called public schools? I went to public(fee paying) school and 100+ years ago it was originally set up to help the poor children. Has that got anything to do with it?

Incredible - one has offered corrections to your dismal English spelling, and you still make the same mistakes!

It seems you don't know the difference on when to use 'your' or 'you're' and one wonders, among other things, why you choose to spend your time in the classroom with such a lack of fundamental skills?

What do you do when a student asks you a question...in that regard...? you probably say something like - "let's get to that next week..."

Sad stuff.

Now now children.
This isn't a classroom. It is an informal forum where everyone is prone to mistakes. true or false? Discuss.

This is true, but one of the best ways to learn in life is to learn from your mistakes. The person in question pays no attention to her/his mistakes and keeps reproducing them! This is not the way to go, especially for someone who makes their living in a classroom with unsuspecting students who demand (and deserve) competency as a minimum. She/he is not providing that - at least in this fundamental area.

I have no doubt this person is a perfectly competent speaker of English and is well versed in the nuances of grammar. Unless this person plans to teach typing in the near future, which I doubt based on his own multiple admissions, then who the hell cares?

Well I try to let it go but ghost. Forget it. Laughing
If all ghost can do is rip apart my spelling, so what. Smile

Hang on a thought....Your facts are crap and my spelling and typing are crap. What a match. We should meet up and have drink. You can teach me to type and I could tell you ( I can't dream of teaching you ) what I know about the city and nation.

All I want to know is:

How long did ghost spend in Turkey, how well did he get to know the people.

From an experience of a Turk (if there are any here) or someone who knows a Turk who work for a public school.

Lets say you've been working for a public school for already 2 years. As far as I know, as long as you're doing pretty ok at work nobody will fire you, you contract is a lifetime contract, you'll have some small benefits, social security, healthcare, etc. small but safe.

Now what happens if you decide to leave for a couple of years in favor or another country (for education, marrige or any other reason)

Can you go back? If yes, is it hard, or possible at all?
What is the process of doing it ? Is there anyway to bypass?

Whatever you know
You're welcomed to write.
