Hi

I'm looking for a cheap place to stay in Tokyo next month only for a weekend. Does anyone have any recommendations? Somewhere closer to Shibuya/Roppongi rather than Asakusa would be preferable.

Thanks for your help!

I stayed in a place called Guess T house - youth hostel with dorms of about 8-10 people. It's in Azabu-Juban and walking distance to Roppongi. Nice area, close to metro station. Motley bunch of long-term and short-term backpackers and japanese. About 3500 Y a night I think. http://www.hostelworld.com/hosteldetails.php/GuessTHouse-Tokyo-6464

Cool! Thanks. I had actually been looking at the website for that one. Is it clean and all that?

It's pretty clean, and a friendly bunch. It's got a nice homey feel with people actually using the communal area and meeting each other. Although the kitchen/lounge area can get a bit smoke-filled at times, so if you've got cigarette smoke issues be warned! Also, there aren't any signs (at least not in English) out the front so it can be a bit hard to find as you've got to walk up a heap of stairs before you realise it's the right place.
