If you have a degree (bachelors) you should be able to qualify for the visa. 12 years refers to some one who has completed high school and technically having been to university means you have satisfied that requirement. All they are worried about is you being able to get a work visa from immigration.

BTW I assume you are a native speaker of English? Immigration requires 12 years of education taught in English if you want to get a visa to teach (your second language) if you are not a native speaker.

I guess if you speak "Strine" that qualifies as a foreign language over here. Laughing

Good luck with the job application.

Hello , tried to start own thread but failed so I've joined on this one .
Can people tell me if I have a chance of working for either Nova or Jet even though I don't have a degree ? I am a British male aged 32 , with secondary and college education ( I have a National Diploma in Business and Finance , from college ) . I have had about three different occupations to date ranging from Public Relations Manager , for a large club to running my own business in Spain . Can any one give me any inside info as I know the official line is " degree needed " ?

Thankyou .

A degree is a 3 year undergraduate bachelors degree, such as Bachelors of Art or Bachelor of Science, or an equivalent qualification. As it is for immigration when processing the visa, generally they will not accept 2-year college degrees or technical non-degree diplomas when issuing work visas.

Failing that you need 3 years of practical related experience in the field you are moving into to get a Humanities visa without a degree.

Last resort: spouse or dependent visas but you have to be married for those and neither require a degree as they are technically not working visas, but you can work on them.

JET will not even consider you if you dont have a university degree, as applications are done throught the Ministry of Education and Justice, and they handle visas as well.
