Hi there,
I lived for a little more than a year in Istanbul, teaching in a private high school, and had the opportunity to visit Bursa on several occasions. My impression was that it was a very nice spot. The people were quite nice and it was big enough to have a decent variety of things to do, without so massively huge that it would be overwhelming. Of course I enjoyed Istanbul as well, which is the largest city in Turkey.
My teaching experience in Turkey was overall a very good one. Of course it varies from school to school, year to year, and even class to class as one might expect. I would definitely give it a go, though, and wouldn't hesistate to return!
Admittedly I haven't lived in Bursa itself, so you might want to take my comments in that context.
