Hi all,
Can anybody tell me what Cengkareng in Jakarta is like as a place to live?
Cheers,

I looked around Cengkareng recently. It is in north-west Jakarta. EF and TBI are both opening schools there. When you mention Cengkareng, most people think of the airport, but the EF and TBI schools are nearer the centre of Jakarta, in pleasant, but quiet, residential areas. There is a big ethnic Chinese population.
If you are going to work there and want to go out in the evening, you might choose to live a bit nearer the centre, e.g. in Grogol. That would be fairly handy for, say, Jalan Jaksa, a haunt of impecunious English teachers. |

Thanks for the info. I'll look around both places and see which is the best.
Although, somewhere with a bit of life in the evening sounds good. |
