Until recently in Canada, you could choose to do a 3 year degree or 4 year honours degree. Most employers won't consider the 3 year BA anymore because everybody goes for the 4, ditto for grad schools. The questions of what a "degree" is confused me too- I think as long as you have something, they don't care!

What do you mean in Canada? You mean Ontario.
