Of course the flip side to all this is what if no one finds her pretty?

Smile

To each his own, said the old lady as she kissed the cow!

Not likely... I'm sure a fine bloke like Chazz got her from a very reputible mail order catalog.

THANK YOU, LADIES, FOR ALL OF YOUR PRACTICAL ADVICE. If it's any consolation for my simple slip of decency Milady has glared at me for my inquiries. I obviously owe her more credit, not a strange scenario for a guy. I also obviously never gave too much thought to defending myself from the scathing (I WEPT) irony of a few opportunistic, forum jackasses who make funnies at the expense of poor, ignorant, sexist, racist, blonde-mail-order-bride-owning asses like myself. I just wnted to save some research I don't have time for Graham nd now I know not to mutter "puta" for every cat-call. All in all, I am disappointed at the effort afforded taking e-jabs at a small-town Canadian, I will tread lightly in the future, you ESL Cats are a sensitive bunch. However, Madhatter, I always have time for sordid sexual affairs - you can't be more expensive than my lovely leased lady. I NOW DECLARE THIS INQUIRY DEFUNCT! Unless any of you clever computer coddling cheapshooters wanna have a duel of alliteration...that'll be even less interesting that this whole debocle (my first posting). I am however, well thankful for all the construction help and the knowledge that I am free to call an ass an ass, as it were, for the time being.

Sorry, Thelma. Put it down to envy on my part! I used to think of you as the Susan Sarandon of the Forum, but that bit about grabbing and seducing reminded me of the legendary Mrs Robinson.
Talking of e-jabs, Chazz, don't forget to visit the doc for the hypodermic ones (I believe they're called "shots" on your side of the Atlantic). Hepatitis A is a must and Typhoid is recommended. You might also consider Hepatitis B.

Am I getting a reputation on this board or what??? Laughing

Susan Sarandon ... sorry, Ill never get past her being "Janet" in the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I prefer Mrs. Robinsons assertivness but I cant imagine going after 20-somethings (as most of my students are ) - they remind me too much of my son... then all my maternal instincts kick in and nothing ruins the mood like maternal instinct LOL I need another role model...

I might change my nick to "Mad Hatter" one of these days since that is what everyone seems to read.... might fit a number of my postings better as well. Wink But in case you're interested, its Thelma/datter. Thelma is my mother's first name and "datter" is Norwegian for "daughter" A small homage to my mom who raised me alone back in the days before it became accepted even "fashionable"

I hate mistaking the names of my superiors... Embarassed . And you obviously must be my superior if you have kids my age and are allready "living the dream".
Thanks for the advice Graham. It's all under control...we Canadians even get free hep B shots, I got a free Hep C one while working in a homeless shelter and far be it for me, Ignorant Greenleaf that I am, to forget about a nasty bitch like typhoid. You're the man, Graham, I just like to shout at people on high horses, that's all, buddy...
So before anyone starts to cry I'm gonna go get some vaccinations, read more (I swear by Lonely Planet now), look up "My Uncle is a General" is a Spanish phrase book and buy my mail order girlfriend a hand-gun and a rhinoplasty.

The nose job is because she is hideously disfigured! Just kidding.
C'mon Amy, she's a mail-order bride from Russia. She didn't come with all the correct papers and so I bought a Jane Doe's passport from a dude I know who works in a morgue and now she needs a rhinoplasty to pass as Jane Doe...
I am pretty sure I am running out of sarcasm and attention span rapidly, I should probably stop writing here...
By the way Amy, thanks for the advice aout the cat calls. I probably wouldn't respond anyways, as I AM afraid of short American women (esp. Republicans) and would probably be blind with terror at a group of grunting, masculin men of a different race and lingo.
Ya...that's it...I have tapped my sarcasm gland beyond the point of decency...why don't I ever just shut up..?
PLEASE DON'T ANSWER THAT! It will only make it worse...like scabs, know what I mean?
Don't answer that either.
I feel I owe you all an apology.
Peace.

Chazz, I'm too short to climb up onto a high horse. By the way, I'm a small town boy too. Nothing wrong with that. I was once young as well, many moons ago (sigh), with hardly a grey hair in sight (sob!).
Re Susan Sarandon, Thelma, I was thinking more of "White Palace" than "Rocky Horror." She played a 40-something waitress who grabbed and seduced a 20-something ad executive.
Goodness knows how many male fantasies were inspired by Anne Bancroft in "The Graduate." And who can forget the edible Katharine Ross?
Sorry, Matt, cyber-flirting's as far as it goes, as I only have eyes for my beloved. All going well, I'll make an honest woman of her later this year. Besides, Thelma's too young for me, and as for Lozwich, well, you know what these antipodean women are like ... swearing, breaking wind, smoking and drinking even more than the men... I'm such a sensitive soul, you see!

Please don't!!!

After some of what's been on this Board lately, it's good to read someone who has a real sense of humour. Almost made me spit out my first coffee of the day.

Here's the relevant section from http://www-rohan.sdsu.edu/faculty/rwinslow/index.html

Quote:
With the important exceptions of violent crimes murder, robbery, and aggravated assault, the crime rate in Mexico is low compared to more industrialized countries. For purpose of comparison, data were drawn for the seven offenses used to compute the United States FBI's index of crime. Index offenses include murder, forcible rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny, and motor vehicle theft. In the UN reports, murder is referred to as "intentional homicides." Aggravated assault is referred to as "major assaults," and larceny is referred to as "thefts." According to the United Nations Seventh Annual Survey on Crime, crime recorded in police statistics shows the crime rate for the combined total of all Index crimes in Mexico to be 836.71, per 100,000 inhabitants in 2000. This compares with 1951.92 for Japan (country with a low crime rate) and 4123.97 for USA (country with high crime rate). For intentional homicides, the rate in 2000 was 14.11 for Mexico, 0,.50 for Japan, and 5.51 for USA. For major assaults, the rate in 2000 was 185.01 for Mexico, compared with 34.04 for Japan, and 323.62 for USA. (Note these data for Japan are for total recorded assaults, since Japan did not report a figure for major assaults.) For rapes, the rate in 2000 was 13.33 for Mexico, 1.78 for Japan, and 32.05 for USA. For robberies, the rate in 2000 was 219.51 for Mexico, 4.07 for Japan, and 144.92 for USA. For automobile theft, the rate in 2000 was 162.04 for Mexico, 243.81 for Japan, and 414.17 for USA. The rate of burglaries for 2000 was 142.53 for Mexico, 233.45 for Japan, and 414.17 for USA. The rate for thefts in 2000 was 100.18 for Mexico, compared with 1434.27 for Japan and 2475.27 for USA. (Note that USA data were those reported to INTERPOL for year 2000, since USA has not yet reported this data to UN.)

Regarding the crime statistics listed in the previous post --

I've only lived in two countries: USA and Mexico. Within those countries I've lived in very few places (a total of only 3 different states.) Granted, my experience is limited, but I would guess that a far higher percentage of crimes such as burglary, assault, theft, etc. are reported to the police in the USA than in Mexico. Perhaps the Mexican city in which I live is unique among Mexican cities, but a very high percentage of crimes are never reported to the police here. Reasons include not trusting the police; believing that the police won't do anything about reported crimes (a waste of time and effort;) and an extremely long, bureaucratic, time-consuming process involved in reporting a crime.
