Hi everyone!
I've been pondering for quite some time whether I should teach in Mexico and i've made the decision to go in July. I have some tutoring experience in ESL here in the states but no experience teaching abroad (though I have lived abroad before). Also, unfortunately I don't have a B.A., just an A.A. which I guess doesn't mean all that much.
Anyways, I have 4,000 dollars saves up after my airfare and am wondering how I should go about starting to teach. Would it be best to sign up for a TEFL course or to apply to a school such as Harmon Hall that will train me for free? I would have to pay for the TEFL out of the four thousand.
I'm planning on staying in Mexico for at least a year and possibly longer
so i'm looking for options that will serve me well in the long run as well as in the short term as I am getting set up. Also, just in case this type of info is important, i'm a 29 year old male and speak near fluent spanish.
Any advice on how I should start out would be greatly appreciated.
Thx in advance..... |
