I have been offered a job by Sendai international preschool, in assossiation with Berlitz, after declining an offer, for a job with their language school.
I cannot find any informaton of this school, and am not sure if it is the same as the actual Sendai international school, as their web site makes no reference to Berlitz.
Does anybody know anything about this school?
Or have worked at this school.
I am a keen snowboarder and believe Sendai to be a good location, any other advie on this would be appreciated too.
I am expecting to chat further with the head, but would like some back up information, when questioning him.

I havent worked at either of these, but I would be careful about confusing these schools and not making a distinction between accreditted and unaccreditted schools.
Usually an international school will have no connection or affiliation with a private language school and is run independently with a board of directors and a PTA. They dont need Berlitz etc to fund them or play a backseat role.
An Japanese international preschool, in my opinion, will simply be a privately funded school that touts its foreign student population, or it may have returnee parents who want their kids to learn English, but dont want to pay the monstrous fees that an international school charges. Some of these preschools are family-run Japanese businesses and are not internationally recognised or accreditted
The list of schools on http://www.tokyowithkids.com should give you some idea, and its my guess that Sendai IS is among the accreditted ones. |

Sendai Shi is about 50 mins by bus from Yamagata Shi, there are buses between the two prefecture capitals about every 15 mins.
Yamagata has some amazing all year ski hills as well as Zao, one of the best ski hills in Tohoku in my opinion, during the regular season.
Miyagi has a few hills, mind you not too much to offer. |
