I know this isnt strictly a teaching topic, but its a good social night for teachers. Me and my flatmate do a pub quiz (strictly non-profit - all for a charity called "Footsteps" in aid of African kids) and basically its a good jolly for teachers (theoretically for any expats, but lets face it: its mostly us).
Any teacher who comes can get on that weeks email list and receive a copy of the question list after the quiz to use in class: my students are really into it. So its this Monday night at 9:30 pm at Moores pub (metro Tribunal) - come down, meet some other teachers and get some free classroom material, hope to see you there.
(if any of the moderators find this thread inappropriate then many apologies!) |

Last week went really well, had 35 people and a great atmosphere: winner gets half the pot (so 35 euros) plus free drinks for team, plus anyone who comes gets free copy of questions emailed to them to use in class - hows that for lesson preparation? Moores pub (metro Tribunal), 9:00 pm for a 9:30 kick-off, Monday night, sociable plus free lesson planning (sort of!), hope to see you down there, Moore. |

Hello everyone, just a reminder that our weekly charity pub quiz is still going strong on Monday nights - last week we had 40 very raucous very sociable expats (UK,US,Ozzie,Swedes) and a good time was had by all - the prizes include free drinks and half the pot for the winning team, bonus questions at the end of each round for a t-shirt, and even a bottle of wine for the losing team: all lots of silly fun and its all non-profit in aid of the "Footsteps" African aid charity too. Any teacher who comes and asks will be emailed a set of that weeks questions to use in class (my students are really into them). So its in Madrid (right outside metro Tribunal) at 9:30 pm this and every Monday, hope to see you there, all the best, Moore. |
