3.30 in the afternoon and Taksim is a sea of red. It is heaving, all good natured. I even saw a policeman dance with some of the lads. |

I was on the streets of Taksim until about 4 and saw no sign of any trouble. One of the best nights I have ever had. Absolutely knackered now though |

I bought Sabah today just for the headline of "Bir Istanbul Masalı". I thought it was quite clever.
Translates in English to "An Istanbul Fairy Tale" and is also the name of a popular soap opera on ATV. |

What odds would I get on a bunch of kids being born in 9 months with names like Taksim and even Ataturk in Liverpool. |

I would believe that you might get a Taksim out of it somewhere. |

I think they would be more likely to be Liverpool in Istanbul... Those guys were pretty rowdy.
And, I thought it was really interesting that the L fans were all over Taksim Square and on the sidestreets drinking beer like water, shouting, singing, etc, and the police just watched. It would never be allowed for Turks. Also, I heard that they literally drank up all the beer in Taksim and the stores and bars were calling for beer to be brought from other areas. Man, there must have been some big headaches... |
