I am plotting my next move and really want to complete a TEFL course in a Spanish-speaking country, then go on to teach there. I've been reading about the different courses in Spain and Argentina. The EBC course in Buenos Aires sounds perfect, but I haven't found anyone who's completed it. Can anyone offer some insight into the course? Is it well-run? Did you find a job? Can one comfortably live in Argentina on a teacher's salary?
Thanks![/b] |

annienh-
well, one reason you're having a hard time tracking down people who've taken the course in baires, it is because the first course offered there began at the end of march. if you want to get in touch w/ people who have taken the ebc course in spain (which i highly recommend), you can contact ebc and ask for a list of contact info for former students. now that i think of it, that request may work in buenos aires, too.
i will be taking the course in july and am really looking forward to it (based on the feedback i received from those in spain). there are several others on this forum who will be taking the course in the next few months... |

Thanks Amy! I won't leave for Argentina until early 2006, so I'd love to hear from you after you take the course. Will you keep in touch and let me know how things work out? I'd appreciate it. Good luck! |

Im moving to Buenos Aires in August and I did the EBC course in Madrid. Ireally excited about this move so I hope Buenos Aires turns out to be as good as Madrid. I ve done 1 school year in Spain, loved every bit of it, although at times I did feel the burn out effect, but because I travelled around Spain , around Europe and just before leaving for Argentina Im also going to do some more travelling , all these travel expenses meant I had to teach, but thats what I wanted to do anyway, travel as much as I can. Ask EBC for references, in fact I did, even if I was already a graduate from the Madrid school I wanted to know the experiences of their grads from Buenos Aires. They dont give you a lot of names , the list isnt as long as Madrid but I guess thats because they just started the Buenos Aires school in March of this year. Good luck.
hasta luego,

Hi Annie,
I hope that you are liking Buenos Aires, I am going to be there soon and looking forward to it. I wanted to say that I am 99% sure that I am going to enrol in the TEFLocal course this week and was wondering if you are or if anybody else is here too. I hope that it is easy to meet friends in Buenos Aires, I have no shortage of them here, see you all soon! |
