the question as I understand it ( since you said what dmb was saying was a dream ) is can you earn 20 or more an hour and answer is yes. We all know that [/quote]
It seems that 31 is clueless as to how to make in surplus of 20 an hour.
Some ppl prefer lower paying jobs becz of many reason...geography, less stress...or simply not having to work harder...I've used all of the above in the past...However, I set myself a goal of minimum 2, 400 ytl this year and met it..On some occassions I had to work very hard on others I didn't. It's really a hoot when your client cancels for the week and u are paid for it.
I have friends who are making much more...and those who make much less...but the options are there.
It seems we "all know that," with the exception of numero otuz bir

This is all a load of arse. I wouldn't get out of bed for less than 50YTL an hour. Where are you guys going wrong? I know people who won't do private lessons for less than 100YTL an hour. |
So why do you put up with all that crap at Dogus then?
The great tefler rate has now gone up to what 100 an hour-bollox |

If there are students out there willing to pay 100 YTL/hr. for lessons, they must be as dumb as hell...
It's just not necessary.
I know some who make close to that for teaching toddlers privately. However, that's only about 16 hrs. a month, what about the rest of the month.
But hey if you're making that ...more power to u dude...

there is confusion i think.
dmb says they are paying 25 ytl per hour....i think the school you are working is giving private lessons to companies ,individuals and groups so it is not bad...i dont know how things work at ET but i think ET gives 15 YTL for normal classes not private ones.... so i think ET and your school are paying the same....correct me if i am wrong.
Entrailicus says that he wouldnt get out of bed for less than 50 YTL and this doesnt mean that they are paying him 50YTL at Doğuş Uni.... i agree with him if you want a le carte food you should pay more so if you want private teaching from an expert you should pay more....the reality is for General English classes language schools pay between 13-20 million liras for their teachers depending on their experience. |

31, have you ever worked at Dogus? What is this crap to which you refer? Please elaborate. What difference would you say there are between Dogus and your current place of employment? Oh, and please, no Mickey Mouse stuff about you working for Molly. |
There was a long discussion fairly recently about private unis and typical private uni students. Crap management and a pass em coz they are paying mentality. I don`t remember you contributing even though according to whynotme`s grouping of private unis Dogus comes in the bottom group. There is no need to compare typical language school students and group 1 private uni students as it is obvious what the differences are. No I have never worked at Dogus but I did work for a group 1 private uni. |

Hay 31 I'm really thick. WHAT WAS THE POINT YOU WANTED TO MAKE:.
Btw alot of us (Me for one) have a short day job, that ( the bread money or beer if you like )pay less per hour but is paid all year and alot of privet work in the evenings (cream or scotch) that pay's a hell of alot more. I know of few teachers who can aford to live the good life on one income. If you want to 'push the boat out' a bit you have to put in the hours. |

Which one did you work at, and did you feel particularly positive about the experience? Although you admit to having no experience of Dogus, I fear that some of the huge sweeping generalisations you made are probably true to a certain degree. |
I would rather not say which one I worked at but definitely group 1.
I worked there for quite a while so it was a mix of experiences. I fear..? What is the pass rate for prep? If no stats available, guess. My guess is 95% at least. PHD students? Research? |
