You will need to post the address, telephone number and/or Chinese names of the people in charge for an effective background check.
Send it to.

They must have given you a telephone number or at least an address. If not you are dealing with a Taiwan recruiter and should probably turn down the offer.

I wouldn't necessarily agree with this. We've seen in recent posts here on this very forum that there are legitimate recruiters out there, which calls into question any advice that suggests that teachers should avoid recruiters in general.

Just because there isn't any information readily available about this school does not automatically mean that this is a bad thing. It could be a new school, which in itself could be a good or a bad thing. Alternatively, it could be an established school that has managed to stay under the radar because it looks after its staff well and hasn't had cause for complaints to be made about it. Remember that human nature dictates that people will complain about things far more readily than they will give them credit.

Take it slowly is my advice. Ask to speak with current or past teachers from the school. Find out as much as you can about the conditions. Ask to see a copy of the contract. Ensure that if you do go for the school that you visit it first and that you sign with the school NOT with the recruiter. Ensure that your salary will be paid to you directly and not through the recruiter. Ensure that the school is aware of the salary that you are being paid to ensure that the recruiter is not skimming.

Finally, once you know more about this school, please post your experinces on www.buxiban.com so that a teacher in the same position as yourself can benefit from the experiences you have gained.
