Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on the Tefl International course in Costa Rica. I have done some research concerning all certifications but I would like to hear how it is from someone that has been through a Tefl International course before. I have my BA in Education and I plan to teach in Korea after the course. I know I don't need the course to teach in Korea, but I believe it will come in handy if I choose to teach somewhere else after Korea. Is this true? Besides I think it's a great excuse to spend some time in Cosat Rica-which I've always wanted to do, but I don't want it to be a total waste of time or money. Also will they help me find a good school in Korea or will I do better researching on my own? And the course ends in mid-Sept, is this a good time to job hunt in Korea? any advice would help!!!
Thank-you

TEFL International has a good rep in Thailand, but the word in Korea is not so good. So . . . it seems they have uneven quality. Try for some references from past students. Though, of course, they will send you to those who loved it.

You're right - you won't need it for Korea - but some countries do like a TEFL Cert of some sort. And, it will help you be a better teacher (in my opinion).

You are better off to do your own job search. Jobs in Korea are open all the time - it is a giant market.
