I'm looking for a university teaching job for the fall in Mexico (natch). One school I'd like to apply to is the Universidad Veracruzana in Jalapa. I found the website online, but, as is often the case with such sites, I was unable to find any information on it useful to TEFL job-seekers, like the name and e-mail of the director of the Centro de Idiomas (or Lenguas), or wherever else English is taught on campus. If anyone reading this works at this school and/or has the information I'm looking for, please share it with me. I have lots of teaching experience (in the US and Mexico) and university degrees and whatever else a reputable employer would require.
Many thanks! |

Thanks to both of you for your suggestions:
smartbob - that's a clever way to make contact with someone who might be interested in giving me a job.
delacosta - I'm one of those weird people who isn't a big fan of the beach (I like the ocean but not the sand!), but I'll give the school you suggested a try. Who exactly is "beny"? I like to know who I'm writing to you.
Mil gracias,

You should note that the job delacosta speaks of is in a small beach resort town. The nearest decent-size city is several hours away by bus. If you don't enjoy the beach you will become bored very quickly. |

i rarely ever go to the beach (that's for the tourists), except to jog in the morning-and i'm never bored. if you need to be entertained then yes, perhaps you will get bored... |

I don't need to be "entertained" per se. Though I enjoy spending quality time with myself (especially after a long day of teaching, no matter how charming the students may be), I also like spending time with pleasant people, Mexicans, gringos, whoever is available for good conversation and a walk on the beach (after the tourist hordes have left for the day). |

True. And as you pointed out a month or so ago, sometimes we get surfers/teachers who come here expecting a "tropical paradise" resort along the lines of Cancun - and then bail out when they find this area isn't what they'd expected. |
