By July 1st teachers will be required to provide:
1. a B.A./B.S. degree
2. a TEFL/CELTA
3. a criminal background check.

Can anyone confirm this, especially #2?
I've been throwing around the idea for a long time now about doing a year in Hanoi. A buddy really enjoyed it and said I would have no trouble finding work with my experience (9 years in Japan+education degree).
However, I don't have a CELTA or TEFL. If #2 is indeed correct....I'm not keen on spending the money and time getting a TEFL just for a one year gig in Vietnam.
Anyone have anymore info on this? |
