I don't know if other people are running into this... maybe Mexico City is just "ahead of the curve", but lately it seems that more and more clients are saying they're unable to process payments submitted on recebos or honararios: the accounting departments are requiring facturas. This is putting the small one or two client groups out of business, and making jobs harder to come by for independent teachers.
My company (which is regularly constituted and submits facturas) has started processing the billing for a few private teachers (and small groups). We really don't make any money doing it, but by sharing the accounting fees we save some money (and it makes the cash flow look better on paper). It's no more work for the accountant if there are 20 facturas instead of 12, and it just means we're writing a few more checks to the teachers.
While I wouldn't say no to adding another group or two, I'm not so much "advertising" as suggesting this as a way some of you out there may get around yet another -- ahem -- challenge on the tope-laden road to a decent living. |
