We must pass by each other all the time.

London

Rome

San Juan Islands (off coast of Washington, USA)

Seattle

Santa Rosa Island (Gulf of Mexico)

Colorado Rocky Mountains |

Other than the Colorado Rocky Mountains, the San Juan Islands are the most amazing place I've been. I didn't want to go home!

But the Rockies, oh, the Rockies. Fort Collins is the first place I'm going when I go home.

Raton is such a pit. It's almost hell on earth. The only other worse place is Texas. The whole state. The Texans can have it! |

Loved 'em when I lived there:

Istanbul

London

CapeTown

Galway

Vancouver

Loved 'em when I just rolled through:

Cesky Krumlov in Southern Bohemia in the snow

Dresden's old town, in the bizarre cafes and bars

Paris and Budapest and Sighisoara (Romania) in the off off off season

Dublin in winter 10 years ago before everyone was a yuppie with a mobile phone, when the pubs didnt serve martinis or play too much ABBA

San Francisco, Seattle, NY, Montreal, Quebec City

Barcelona, Madrid, Sevilla-- enhanced by a brilliant unexpected romance

Accra, Ghana (vibrant, surreal), surrounded by rastafarians and plantain

the Prenzlauerberg suburb of inner Berlin in Autumn

Amsterdam in spring and autumn, away from the coffeeshops and prostitutes, staying in a friend's lovely tall house on Singel gracht

Edinburgh in September, bloody lovely

Not so keen on:

Prague; the real Eurodisney

Amsterdam in hostel territory in the red light district with no money and a dorm room full of annoying stoned backpackers

Dublin last year-- hello? yuppie town!

Johannesburg

Los Angeles

Anywhere in the American Mid West not because they are ugly or crime ridden but because they tend to be bloody boring

				Miss Molly,

I love Fort Collins too. Some of the friendliest, most laid back people I've ever met. I went to college in (the People's Republic of) Boulder, and while it is beautiful there, the residents are mostly uppity yuppies pretending to be hippies. My great aunt lives on Friday Island (San Juans) - lucky, no?

I just spent the weekend in the Rockies (Pike's Peak to be precise) and it was absolutely perfect. Although I expect my upcoming teaching destination to be lovely as well (Costa Rica), I will definitely be bringing along many pictures of my beloved mountains!

Cheers to the state of Colorado
