Does anyone know if it would be possible to find summer-only employment in Mexico? I'm starting a job as teaching high school foreign language (Spanish and French) in the states, and am looking for something to occupy my summer months (starting NEXT year). I have a Master degree in second language teaching, and I've previously worked as an EFL teacher in Japan, Taiwan, and Spain, so experience shouldn't be problematic. Airfare reimbursement for such a short time-period would be unlikely, I'm sure, but it would be welcome. University teaching would be great, but I'm open to anything.

Please let me know if you have ideas.

Unless you could connect with some type of American university exchange or study-abroad program (American university students studying Spanish in Mexico for the summer,) I think it would be pretty difficult to find a teaching job here just for the summer. With the generally low wages for EFL teachers, your summer earnings probably wouldn't even cover the cost of a work visa and airfare.

At the university where I teach, our entire summer break between spring semester and fall semester is only 3 weeks, and there are no EFL classes offered during that time. July and August are usually low times for enrollment at language schools here, so they aren't looking to hire teachers just for the summer.

Some schools offer summer courses for children, so you could try asking about that at various schools. Not all schools need extra people for these courses, but some would.
