Interac seems to have been a hot topic over the past few months, or so a search through the archives tells me. But archived complaints aren't going to change anything, so what's the point? Let's get together and ACTUALLY work for change. Interac has some good points too, let's make sure they don't go the way of the dodo during these new bidding wars.

Completely serious. Interac is so scared they actually shut the office early to avoid collective bargaining.

Any company that avoids collective bargaining is one to be avoided itself.

What is the low down with Interact? I was offered a job, but now I am going to turn them down. I keep hearing bad things about them.

What is your alternative job?

If you can get a better ALT position, I would suggest you go for it.

However, If I had to choose between working at GEOS and Interac, I would chose Interac.

ALT jobs still offer weekends and evenings off.......prime time for being able to get private students.

Yea but if you are placed at schools in a small town finding private students is not so easy. Japanese living in small towns are like people living in small towns in every country! Very backwards with no care of anything from abroad, much less learn a new language!

Anyway, I would like to know if anyone working for interac is having any problems!

I'd like to move into an ALT position next April and it seems that Interac is the only way to go without having a lot of luck / friends to help you network.

I know about the pay issues with Interac - but what I want to know is how much job security do you have with Interac? I don't want to move to Hokkaido, say, and find out a week later I have no job.

Where do you rank Interac over the big four, knowing I like to teach kids?

Interac is not the only way to go! I work for an honest and sincere company. My problem is that I want to live in a large city, but know the importance of working for a good company. Life in this small town is boring after work.

If you don't mind living in a small town there are a few good agancies to try to get a job with that will place you at an elementary or junior high school.

Just be aware of USCOM and lil' kids, the companies are owned by the same owner who has a history of lying and cheating his employees.

As for Interac. I am trying myself to find out about the company. I hear a lot of bad, but everything is either been on this board or my present employer which is a rival of Interac.
