Thank-you Ozman, I appreciate your filling in the details.
About all I really need is a place to run and swim, a supermarket, and sundry other considerations. My wife has actually worked in Hong Kong before, and most of what she does involves a telephone and computer, with occasional trips to factories.
the fact that Chueng Chau is car-free floats my boat in a very big way; in my youth I lived on a similar island in the straights of Juan de Fuca, and I loved being able to get around by bike or foot.
I looked up the ferry schedule, and service appears to be every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday, starting at 0:30 a.m. to 23:45 p.m., with almost no variation on Sundays and holidays. This was both for foot passengers and freight, according to http://www.nwff.com.hk/engtext/schedule/route.asp.
Please let me know if this info is in error.
So thanks for the lowdown, I appreciate your help in learning what to look out for. |
