Every school is different.
MOST schools start Sept 1. First term is JAM PACKED til the Xmas holidays, which for some start on the last Friday prior to Xmas and for other, start on the 24th. Again...up to the school.
Then there is Chinese New Year. Like Easter, it changes every year. 2006 it is in January.
Then there is Easter.
Exams start around the middle of June, finish at the end of June.
Then there is the joy known as "after exam activitiy", which is 2 to 3 weeks of insanity of being at your school for the first 2 or 3 weeks of July and in some cases, doing nothing.
For example, in my school this past year, Xmas started on Dec 23rd, back on Jan 2nd. Chinese New Year was from Feb 4th to 20th. Easter from March 25th to April 5th. I am finished work on July 12th at noon. Some peope go to the end of the week (15th), other work until the 21st.
I had my first staff meeting of the year on August 25th, including panel meeting. First official day with kids was Sept 1st.
Every school is different. You would have to ask your school for a calendar. |
